Born and raised in the Midwest, Angela Westhoff-Johnson received her Bachelor of Music degree and a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish from Simpson College in Indianola, Iowa. When her parents moved to Grants Pass, she too came west and received a Master of Music degree from the University of Oregon, with an emphasis in vocal performance. She's now pursuing a Doctorate of Musical Arts.

She married Paul Johnson in 1994 and began work at Oregon Catholic Press later that year - while continuing to work at the Cathedral. At OCP, she is now a senior music editor. The company is the largest English-language music and missal publisher for the Catholic market.
